Geddes, Donald Wallace – Age 90 of Dartmouth, passed away January 22, 2020 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Dean, he was a son of the late William and Lenora (Fleming) Geddes.
In his early years Don worked in the woods and local sawmills. When he moved to Dartmouth he was a milkman for Woodlawn Dairy and later drove a truck for Major Foods from where he retired. His heart belonged in the woods where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and time at the camp. He enjoyed many years of going to dances with Irene and especially dancing with the Music and Friends Club.
Surviving are children, Judy (Charles), Bill (Trudy), Karen (Dan), Kendall (Vicki); grandchildren, Trevor (Sara), Jason, Erin (Duane); great-grandchildren, Paige, Mitchell, Tyler, Benjamin; sisters, Minnie, Evelyn, Grace (Robert); sisters-in-law, Erma and Jessie. He was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife of 66 years, Irene (Rogers); son-in-law, Mike; sister, Flora; brothers, Lionel, Gerald, Eldon.
Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Dad’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family graveside service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, East Stewiacke at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
