Sheppard, George Henry – Age 94 of Dutch Settlement, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2019. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late William and Leah (Gosse) Sheppard.
He had eight siblings of which two remain to mourn his passing, Carl Sheppard and Helen Hamilton. He will be lovingly remembered by sons, Jack and Bill; daughter-in-law, Nancy; granddaughters, Tiffany and Kimberly. George was predeceased by his wife, Velma; and son, Bob.
George was a hard worker his whole life and was happy to rest after a good day’s work only to plan his next projects. He had a passion for golf, which he played well into his eighties, and always shot better than Bill. He enjoyed watching golf up until his final days.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. There will be no visitation. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Colchester East Hants Health Centre or a charity of choice. RIP George.
