Manuel, Betty – Lake Charlotte. It is with sadness we announce that Betty Manuel passed away on June 1, 2019, surrounded by love after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Windsor to Georgina and Raymond Greenslade, she is survived by her loving husband James; son, Tim (Liz); daughter, Angela (Bobby); brothers, Donald (Anne), Robert (Debbie), Wayne (Theresa); sisters, Rosemary and Bonnie; grandchildren, Nicholas, Tyler, Josie and Jenna; along with many nieces and nephews.

Betty grew up in Newport, Hants Co., and loved to reminisce about her high school cheerleading days. As a young adult she moved to Halifax where she met the love of her life, Jim, while working at MT&T. Betty and Jim enjoyed 52 amazing years of marriage, travel and adventure. Along with living a full life with family and friends, Betty had a passion for her working career, most notably with MT&T, Sears and O’Regan’s. After retirement Betty volunteered her time with Memory Lane and many worthy causes close to her heart. Holding family gatherings and gardening at her Lake Charlotte home brought her the greatest joy. Betty will be most remembered for her sense of humour, her zest for life and her love and pride for her family.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 9th in Memory Lane Heritage Village, Lake Charlotte. Memorial donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or charity of choice.
