Loughead, Frederick “Graham” – Beloved husband of the late Patricia Loughead, died peacefully surrounded by his family, in Debert Court, on January 30, 2019, at the age of 83. Born in Beaver Brook, he was a son of the late Robert and Verna Loughead.
Graham worked for the family business, Loughead’s Transport, for several years, then opened Loughead Express with his brother, Reg. He went on to open G. Loughead Services and North American Van Lines with his wife, Pat, which included delivering groceries to local seniors for over 30 years. A devoted participant of the community, he was a member of Old Barns United Church. Graham loved spending time at the VON Adult Day Program for the past couple of years.
Graham is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Steve) Fredette, Colleyville, TX; Carol (Stephan) Reale, East Greenwich, RI; Cathie (Bob) Landsburg, Truro; Christa (Gary) Giddens, Lower Truro; niece, Vicki (Troy) Colford, Valley. Graham is also survived by his greatest blessings, his grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor, Nicole and Kayla Giddens, Rachael and Egan Reale, Suzanne, Tricia and Patrick Landsburg, Talia and Jaime Fredette, Kylie and Keenan Colford; great-grandchildren, Evan, Ryan and Katelyn Cooper; brothers, Reg and his wife, Gerry; Wayne (Vicki); several nieces and nephews. Graham was predeceased by his loving wife, Patricia; granddaughter, Lindsay Giddens; brothers, Parker and Donald.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Graham’s life will be held on Saturday, February 2nd, at 2 p.m., in Old Barns United Church, with Rev. David LeBlanc officiating. A reception will follow downstairs in the church. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VON Adult Day Program.
There are no words to express our gratitude to the staff of Debert Court for creating a loving home for Dad, and for the care his family received during his final days.
