Bozeman, Curtis Lane – Age 65, Meaghers Grant passed away September 16, 2018, in Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital with his loving wife, Rosalind “Roz” and friend, Lorena by his side, following a brief illness with cancer.
Born in Gary, Indiana he was a son of the late Charles Lee and Carrie Elizabeth (VanSyckle) Bozeman. He lived in Kansas, Kentucky and New Jersey. Curt had an inspiration for arts, canvas oils, music, wood and welding. At age 12, he started several bands as lead guitar player, before joining the Navy and serving in the USA. He was a boiler maker employed with large firms across the Eastern Seaboard, such as Corning and Curth Brothers. He worked on clam boats in Atlantic City and northern New Jersey. He later married and started a family. In 2000, he came to Canada with his present wife and retired in Nova Scotia where he enjoyed the country and seashore. He made many friends through music and art, and had a pleasant, relaxed life fishing and gardening.
Surviving are siblings, Charles “Kenneth”, Kentucky; Terry, Chicago; Keith, New Jersey; Wanda, Indiana; Margie and Krystal, Arizona and California; his children, Richard, Lisa, Clinton (Stephanie), Justin (Alison), Lindsay, Lindsey; five grandchildren, Dylan, AJ, and Jewel. He will be dearly missed by his wife and rabbit, Buttercup; as well as his musical friends who he played with weekly at JM Cafe in Musquodoboit Harbour. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Palestine.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 13th, with a memorial service to be held at 2 p.m., both in St. James United Church, Meaghers Grant, Rev. Dr. Linda Yates officiating.
Donations in his honour may be made to IWK Foundation, Meaghers Grant Cemetery, SPCA or Musquodoboit Valley Health Foundation- Hospital.
