Lauren “Christine” Sanderson

Sanderson, Lauren “Christine” – Age 65, of Crowes Mills, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on August 4, 2018, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, following a courageous battle with cardiac disease.

Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Naomi (Higgins) Betts.

Christine had several professions over the years, teaching preschool in Great Village and Bible Hill, and later owning her own cafe in Barrie, Ontario. While living in Wasaga Beach, Christine was very active in the community offering her spare time caring for palliative patients, and driving them to medical appointments. After moving back to Nova Scotia in 2010, Clayton and Christine enjoyed several years travelling and spending winters in Texas and Florida.

Christine leaves behind her husband, Clayton; children, David, Tammi, Kerri-Ann, Robert; step-daughter, Pamela MacKinley; grandchildren, Ryan, Brody, Jimmy, Jessica and Julien.

Cremation has taken place. In honoring Christine’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family interment will be held at a later date in Mahon Cemetery, Great Village, with Rev. Glenn MacLean officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Association of Canada, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or The Kidney Foundation of Canada.

Christine’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Robert Graham, Dr. David Henderson, Dr. Courtney Smith, Angela McDonnell, Cheryl Stevens, and all the VON nurses including, Chasity, Catherine, Lynn, Tara, Margie, and others who attended to Christine’s home care.

Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
