Spears, Jeanetta Roberta – Age 94 of Port Dufferin, passed away June 24, 2018, in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow. Born in Sober Island, she was a daughter of the late John and Mildred (Harnish) Logan.
Jeanetta was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 56, Port Dufferin.
Surviving are her daughters, Gloria (Gordon) Troop, St. Margarets Bay; Muriel (William) Helpard, Henderson, Nevada; Vera (Silvano) Leutri, Toronto, Fern (Gerry) Beaudoin, Blanc Sablon, Quebec; sons, Keith (Tara), Cape George; Garth (Ena), Marinette; Philip (Beryl), Port Dufferin; Lloyd (Arlene), Truro; Meryl (Cindy), Gander, Nfld.; Darrell (Denara), Dartmouth; 29 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; sister, Shirley Levy; brother, Harold, both of Sober Island. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold; sons, Weldon and Manuel; daughter, Shirley Curtis; brothers, Elmo, Lloyd “Sterling”, Donald, Duncan, Charles, Granville, Eric; sister, Margaret Rose in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jeanetta’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 5 at 11 a.m. in St. James Anglican Church, Port Dufferin, Rev. Gary Barr officiating. A reception will follow in the Samuel R. Balcom Community Centre, Port Dufferin. Family flowers only. Donations in Jeanetta’s memory may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of one’s choice.
