Fisher, Edna “Jean” – Age 85, of Upper Musquodoboit, passed away June 24, 2018 in Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital, Middle Musquodoboit. Born in Upper Musquodoboit, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Annie (Snair) Henry.
Jean taught school from 1951-1965, and then continued to substitute into the 1970s. She married Ralph in 1962, and together they raised three children. For many years, Ralph and Jean were the local mail drivers and also delivered the daily paper. Jean was a devoted member of St. James United Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, served on many church boards, and was a faithful member of the U.C.W. for many years.
Surviving are sons, Neil (Shauna), Danny (Jennifer); daughter, Lucille (Tom) Keen; grandchildren, Steven, Justin, Kalika, Kassy, Katie, Madelyn; three great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Carolyn); sister-in-law, Velma Henry; lifelong friend, Jane Parker; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph; siblings, Janet (Roy), Ethel (John), Fred, Pearl (Allison).
Visitation will be Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., and funeral service will be Wednesday, at 11 a.m., both in St. James United Church, Upper Musquodoboit, Rev. David LeBlanc officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
