Dean, Harold – Age 79 of Dean. It is with great sadness that we announce Harold’s peaceful passing on October 20, 2018, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, with his family by his side. Born in Dean, he was a son of the late Seldon and Margaret (Fisher) Dean.
Harold worked in the forestry industry, in the sawmill, and as a power saw operator. In his early years he was a volunteer fireman. Harold was a member of Lemmon Hill Sports Association. He was passionate about country music and played an integral role in organizing musical jamborees which he emceed for several years.
Harold was a loving husband, father, grampie and papa. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Marie (Lemmon); sons, Greg (Shelly), Jeff (Amanda); daughter, Clara; grandchildren, Courtney, Colton, Rachel, Zachary, Carter; great-granddaughter, Makynzie; brother, David. He was predeceased by brothers, Wilson, George, Laurie; sister, Bessie.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 23 from 7-9 p.m. and funeral service Wednesday at 2 p.m., both in Sharon Presbyterian Church, Dean, with student minister Calvin Burt officiating. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Colchester East Hants Health Foundation – Palliative Care Unit.
