Meade, Ronald George – The home-going of Ronald George Meade, age 84, took place in Moncton City Hospital on January 17, 2018.
Ron was a man who loved the Lord, his wife and family more than anything else. He and Mabel were married for 53 years, with most of those years spent in East Jeddore and Porters Lake, before moving to Moncton in 2013.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel; daughter, Julianne Savoie (Roland); son, Tyler (Shelly); sister, Patsy Swan (George); brothers, Elliott Henry (April), Gerald Henry (Donna); sister, Evelyn Moss; brother, Doug Walsh (Cindy); his beloved grandchildren, Joanna, Nicolas and Meaghan, who lovingly called him “Gong Gong”; and numerous nieces and nephews and family from away. He was predeceased by his parents, George Meade and Blanche Henry; sisters, Pearl Power (Fulton), June Killam (Victor).
Ron was self-employed in Halifax, until he retired in Porters Lake in 1996. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, biking, boating, and just sitting in his garage.
Visitation will be Sunday, 6-8 p.m., and funeral service Monday at 11 a.m., both in Marine Drive Pentecostal Church, Head of Jeddore, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff on the Palliative Care Unit of Moncton City Hospital for their kindness, care and compassion.
