Reid, Marie Louise – Age 81 of Halifax, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2017, in her residence in St. Vincent’s Nursing Home. Born in Deer Lake, N.L., she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Clemency (Gordon) Byrnes.
Louise was a graduate of Memorial University (1953), an active member of the Anglican Church, and a talented organist.
Surviving are daughters, Sherry and Noreen; granddaughters, Cayla and Lindsey; precious great-granddaughter, Amelia; and many extended family members in Newfoundland. She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Frank Reid; sister, Edna (Clyde) Young.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Anglican Church of the Apostles, Bayers Road. Donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all the staff of St. Vincent’s for their love, compassion and care.
