Robert Laird Miller

Miller, Robert Laird – Age 68 of Shubenacadie East. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, family member and friend, Bob, on May 24, 2017, in Colchester East Hants Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Robert and Doris (Wescott) Miller.

Bob was a minerals driller for Logan Drilling Ltd., a job that took him all over the world. Bob had a passion for life, love, and adventures. He loved telling stories or jokes and could be found telling them anywhere, to a lifelong friend or loved one, or to a new friend he just met because they were in the same place at the same time. Bob loved fishing on the Shubenacadie River and was a member of the Shubenacadie River Commercial Fishermen’s Association. Bob also had an appreciation for nature and its beauty, teaching all of his children and grandchildren to take time to appreciate and enjoy the small things in life, like a beautiful sunset.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Francis Tufts; son, Robert (Cora-Lynn); daughters, Charlene, Deborah (Chris); stepson, Tuffy (Margaret) Tufts; stepdaughter, Dawn (Carl) Tufts; sisters, Judy (Mitch) Hansen, Dorothy (Arthur) Kaiser; brother, Gary; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. In keeping with Robert’s request, there will be no service.

So, with one last toast to the American Eagle, enjoy your final quest!
