Cole, Annie “Ola” – Ola passed away in her 97th year on Thursday, January 26, 2017, surrounded by loving family members in Ocean View Continuing Care Centre. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Raymond Marvin Cole; sister, Euphemia; brothers, Neil, Doug, and Gerald; granddaughter, Susan; great-granddaughter, Alex. She will be sadly missed by daughters, Faye (Bud), Sheila; son, Ray (Erika); grandchildren, Keith (Kim), Rachel (Andrew), Shawna (John), David (Karen), Michael (Jenn), Linda (Greg); son-in-law, Mark. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Paul (Erika), Jeffrey, Robin, Charlotte, Ethan, Liam, Colton, Matthew, Johnny, Ciara, Nicholas and Izabella.
Ola was born in Upper Musquodoboit, a daughter of Lyman and Gladys (Archibald) Andrews, on December 14, 1920, and lived her entire life in the Musquodoboit area, eventually settling in Meaghers Grant following her marriage to Raymond. She became an active member of the community, whether through the activities of St. James United Church or other groups in the village. Whenever there was work to be done Ola could be counted on to be first in line to volunteer. The long list of those who knew and loved her will miss this beautiful lady.
Cremation has taken place. Ola’s life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, in St. James United Church, Meaghers Grant, with Rev. Dr. Linda Yates officiating. Interment will be in Meaghers Grant Cemetery. A reception will follow the service in Meaghers Grant Community Hall. Donations may be made to St. James United Church, Ocean View Continuing Care Centre or a charity of your choice.
We would like to thank Ocean View staff for the exceptional care they gave our mother during her three-year residency. A special thanks to Dr. Nowlan for her attentive care.
