Morven, Arthur Joseph – Age 70, Wyses Corner, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on May 27, 2016, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Arthur and Mildred Agnes (Mayo) Morven.
Arthur had a passion for hunting and building. He displayed his love for his trade as a member of Local 56 Pipefitters Union. Arthur made many friends wherever he went.
He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and will always be loved and missed by his wife, Diane; daughters, Shelley (Peter) Rakovalis, Christine Morven (Yves Simard); son, Arthur; grandchildren, Jessica, Aleesha, Elias; siblings, Dorothy (Donnie) Hartlen, Alice (Bob) Fitzpatrick, Patsy (Henry) Thorne, Cathy Morven. He was predeceased by sister, Rosie Wright.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m., both in St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, Shubenacadie, Father Joseph Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Preeper Hill Cemetery. Donations may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, Atlantic Region.
