Henley, Gordon Royce – July 7, 1942 – April 10, 2015, passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home. Gordon was a son of the late Henry and Dora (Dean) Henley. Surviving are the love of his life, his wife of 49 years, the former Hazel Fleming; sons, Wendell (Tammie), Craig, Mark (Nadine), Jamie and Jody (Alanna). His grandchildren, Derrick, Hayley, Jacob, Matthew, Cody, Dawson, Brianna, and Kaylee, were a great joy to him and he was very proud of all of them. He is also survived by sisters, Rhoda (Dennis), Diane and Josephine; brothers, Donald (Hazel), Adam (Kathy). He will be missed by Chopper, his second best friend. He was predeceased by sisters, Ida, and Kaye; brother, Ralph.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Monday, 7-9 p.m., and funeral service will be Tuesday, at 2 p.m., in St. James United Church, Upper Musquodoboit, Rev. Michael Henderson officiating. Following the service the family will meet friends for a reception downstairs in the church. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to St. James United Church General Fund.
