Louise Alma Logan

Logan, Louise Alma – Age 95, of Upper Musquodoboit, passed away on November 4, 2016, in Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital, Middle Musquodoboit. Born in Newcomb Corner, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Maude (Sinclair) Redmond.

She was a graduate of the Nova Scotia Hospital Nursing School and wore her cap proudly. Louise was married to Lewis for 56 years and together they enjoyed many road trips to visit family and friends, playing crib, dancing and golfing at Fish Pond Golf Course. They lived in Upper Musquodoboit and raised three adopted children. Mom devoted much of her life to serving her church and community. She was a member of St. James UCW, the Legion, Fellowship Club, and was a lifetime member of Eastern Star. She had a passion for picking berries and gardening, and loved to share her baking and preserves. She also had a talent for handiwork and excelled in quilling, quilting, and tatting, and was only too happy to show anyone who was interested how they were done. Louise was very independent and had a driver’s license for 70 years. She remained in her own home until August of this year with the help of homecare workers, Barb, Billie Jo, Kim, family, neighbours, and friends, especially Jean and Jane.

Louise was the last remaining member of her immediate family. Surviving are son, Fred (Nancy); daughter Joanne; grandchildren, Holly, Keith, Jill, Melissa, Savannah, Marshall, many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. She was predeceased by her husband, Lew; son, Roy.
