Day, Marion Ida – Age 83, of Lake Charlotte, passed away peacefully into the arms of God, on September 30, 2016, in St. Vincent’s Nursing Home, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Douglas and Mary (Neary) Smith.
Marion was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church in Oyster Pond, as well as a member of the Oyster Pond Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She had been employed for many years at Sears.
Surviving are her daughters, Donna (Gary), Oyster Pond; Charlotte, Halifax; sons, Dennis, Cape Breton; Kevin, Lake Charlotte; brother, Ron (Noreen), Halifax; sister, Betty, Halifax; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, of 52 years, Charles; six brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 1-1:45 p.m., with funeral service at 2 p.m., in St. John’s Anglican Church, Oyster Pond, Rev. Carson Baxter officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Anglican Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Anglican Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
