James Roger “Jim” Jackson

Jackson, James Roger “Jim” – Age 77, of Enfield, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2016, in The Magnolia Continuing Care, Enfield, after a short illness. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Edward and Catherine (Foster) Jackson.

Jim had a varied career, working for Department of Transportation, Stewiacke Construction, as well as being Superintendent of Public Works for the Municipality of East Hants. He had a lifelong love for the outdoors, loved to garden and was a true woodsman. He loved to read, and was never without a book in his hand. Jim was always happiest sitting behind his team of horses, holding the reins.

Surviving are sister, Lynn MacEachern (Bill); brothers, William, Laurie, Clyde, Eric (Colleene), Peter; sister-in-law, Kim; children, Matthew (Lorelei), Erin (Jim), Jennifer (Scott); grandchildren, Colten (Cynthia), Madeline, Jason, Justin, Sarah, Jeffrey, Joshua, Paige; great-grandchildren, Akira and Bentley; former spouse and mother of his children, Sandra (Holmes). He was predeceased by his wife, Colleen (Shunamon); and brother, Paul.

Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Sunflower Cottage, at the Magnolia Continuing Care for their exceptional care during his time there.
