Boyd, David Charles – Age 83, passed away April 15, 2025 at home. He was born in Yarmouth, raised in Mayflower, and settled in West Chezzetcook.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Madeline (Fillis); children, Scott, Hamilton, ON; Garth, Grande Prairie, AB; Nadine (Peter Hines) and Coleen, both of West Chezzetcook; grandchildren, Brandon, Jessica, Riley, Allie, Jake; step-grandchildren, Aaron, Leanne, Mandi, Katie; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lorena; seven brothers and two sisters.
David worked as a mechanic, a backhoe operator, labourer, and in his retirement years with Canada Post.
He was a longtime parishioner of St. Anselm's Church; a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9093; served with the Chezzetcook Volunteer Fire Department and a long-time ball player. He was active in the community, running Bingos and 45 Card Socials.
Visitation will be held Thursday April 24th, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., in Rowlings Funeral Home, 7795 Highway 7, Musquodoboit Harbour. Funeral will be Friday April 25th, 2 p.m., in St. Genevieve's Church, 723 East Chezzetcook Rd, followed by a burial in St. Anselm's Cemetery, 7045 Highway 207, West Chezzetcook. Reception to follow in St. Therese Community Center, 17 Conrod Rd, Grand Desert.
