Floyd Vernon Wright

Wright, Floyd Vernon – Age 87 of Truro, passed away at home on March 27, 2020. Born in Dean, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Marjorie (Fleming) Wright.

Floyd was a welder and pipefitter, working first in the oil refineries in Halifax and Cape Breton. In 1962, he went to Ontario where he worked in the steel mills for a couple of years. He moved to British Columbia in 1964, working in the mines, up in the mountains, and later in the oil refinery for 25 years. While there, he built himself a boat which was his home until he moved back to Nova Scotia in November 2017.

Surviving are his sister, Jean Garden; brother, Donald (Gwen); several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother-in-law, Lloyd Garden.

Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
