Taylor, James Edward

Taylor, James Edward – Age 79, Dartmouth, and formerly of Meaghers Grant, passed away October 2, 2015, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Simcoe, Ont., he was a son of the late Sydney and Edna (Forse) Taylor. Jim was an aviation mechanic with the Navy for many years. He was a long-standing member of the Grand Lodge of A.F.A.M. of Nova Scotia and the Grand High Priest of the Royal Arch Masons of Nova Scotia.

Surviving are his wife, the former Geraldine Dooks MacFarlane; children, Scott (Anne Louise), Robin (Kim), Janice (Mike); grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Isaac, Seth, Lindsey; great-granddaughter, Sadie; stepchildren, Kevin (Helen), Stephen (Kathy), Marilyn (Claude); six step grandchildren; one step great-grandson; one step great-granddaughter; sister, Sheila; brothers, John (Lynda), Don (Nancy). He was predeceased by brother-in-law, Roy Gibbons; sister-in-law, Sandy Taylor.

Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time, but will be published in Monday’s paper.

Donations in Jim’s memory may be made to Glaucoma Research Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
