Carolyn "Lynn" Margaret Dodsworth

Dodsworth, Carolyn “Lynn” Margaret – With heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the passing of Lynn Dodsworth at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre on October 12, 2023 after a very short battle with cancer. Lynn was a lifetime resident of Great Village. She was well known in Great Village and surrounding communities for her friendliness, kindness, and sense of humour. She was often the first person to welcome a newcomer to the community, offer a favour, or help someone in need. Never one to miss a party, Lynn was also very fond of a good red wine. She and Mark were strong supporters of the SLTGA Snowmobile Club. Lynn thoroughly enjoyed snowmobiling and all sorts of winter activities, which is likely the reason she was always wishing for snow.

Lynn is survived by her partner, Mark Murphy; her children, Peter and his son, Ronin (Ronin’s Mom Jordanna Griffin); Rebecca (Cole Miller); Daniel (Madison Rushton); Maggie (Evan Keddy); Caitlyn Stoddart (Dave Stoddart); Brennan Murphy; and Cassandra Murphy (Brandon McNutt and daughter Maia). Her children and grandson were the light of her life. Also survived by her mother, Patricia Dodsworth; brother, Vince Chapman; sister, Lisa Gill; as well as many much-loved aunts, uncles and cousins. She had the good fortune during her life to be blessed with amazing friends, the kind to last a lifetime. For sure she will not be forgotten. Lynn is also survived and will be missed by her faithful companion, Kitana (Kat Dog) and her chickens which she truly loved.

Lynn was predeceased by her father, Peter Dodsworth, who she missed dearly until the day she died, as well as her special, Cousin Cathy Evans.

A Celebration of Lynn’s Life will be held Sunday, October 29, 2023, from 1 - 4pm at The Great Village Art and Entertainment Centre, 8729 Nova Scotia Trunk 2, Great Village. Parking at the Great Village Legion (parking lot behind Legion building across the street).

If desired, donations may be made to Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada or to Colchester East Hants Hospice Society.

A message of condolence for the family may be left by posting your comment as a guest in the area below.

LOOK FOR ME IN RAINBOWS

Time for me to go now.  I won’t say goodbye:

Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky.

In the morning sunrise when all the world is new.

Just look for me and love me

As you know I loved you.

Time for me to go now.  I won’t say goodbye:

Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky.

In the evening sunset

When all the world is through,

Just look for me and love me

And I’ll be close to you.

It won’t be forever.  The day will come and then

My loving arms will hold you

When we meet again.

Time for us to part now, we won’t say goodbye:

Look for me in rainbows, shining in the sky.

Every waking moment and

All your whole life through

Just look for me and love me

As you know I loved you.

Just wish me to be near you

And I’ll be there with you.
