Nelson, Otis Harvey – Age 67 of Stewiacke, passed away peacefully at home on February 11, 2017, with his wife and son by his side. Born in Mill Village, he was a son of the late Sidney and Thelma (Campbell) Nelson.
Throughout his working years, Otis had been a heavy equipment operator, truck driver, and welder. In his spare time, he was an antique car enthusiast.
Surviving are his wife, the former Edith Isenor; children, Jerry and Charlene; grandchildren, Luke, Josie, Carlie; great-grandchildren, Ava and Thor; siblings, Marion, Sylvia, Linda, Cora, Albert, Seward, Loren and Darrell; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Millie and Gerald.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, at 2 p.m., in Shubenacadie United Church, Rev. Martin Reid officiating. A reception will be held downstairs in the church following the service. Memorial donations to any privately owned animal rescue organization would be appreciated. The family thanks the VON workers, Dawn Ross and Dr. Henderson for their kind and compassionate care.
