Gaffney, Shirley Marie – Age 81, Dartmouth, passed away May 24, 2015 in Melville Lodge, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Elsie (DeWolfe) Redmond. Shirley looked forward to family gatherings which always involved a meal. She enjoyed the friendliness of the people at St. Anthony’s Bingo.
Surviving are daughter, Karen (Greg) Horne; son, Michael (Heather); granddaughters, Tara, Shona, Stephanie, Nicole, Jennifer; five great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Glawson; brother, Victor (Doreen) Redmond; two half-brothers and two half-sisters. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard “Ted”; son, Shawn, in infancy; great-grandson, Emerson; brother, Murray (Bridgette) Redmond.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. Ted and Shirley will be buried together at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association.
