Farnell, Reginald Austin – Age 100, of Onslow Mountain and formerly of Upper Musquodoboit, passed away August 6, 2018 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Upper Musquodoboit, he was a son of the late Austin and Anna (Connor) Farnell.
Reg was a veteran of the Second World War having served overseas, he was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Valley Branch #147, Elm Lodge #115, and a member of St. James United Church, Upper Musquodoboit.
Surviving are son, Ray (Karen), Onslow Mountain; daughters, Margaret (Joe) Archibald, Stewiacke; Rita (Bill) Whitney, Texas; grandchildren, Joseph, Douglas, Derek, Leah, Will, Max; great-grandchildren, Austin, Alden, Meah; brother, Eric, Welland, Ontario. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy (Kent); siblings, Earle, Marion, Hazel, Gordon “Bub”, Louise.
Visitation will be Sunday in St. James United Church from 6-8 p.m. starting with a Legion service followed by a Masonic tribute. Funeral service will be on Monday at 2 p.m., also in St. James United Church, with Rev. Alice Rutherford officiating.
Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Upper Musquodoboit. Memorial donations may be made to St. James United Church, Royal Canadian Legion Valley Branch 147, Upper Musquodoboit, or Elm Lodge #115, Upper Stewiacke.
