Cynthia Marlene McLean

McLean, Cynthia Marlene – Age 58, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2016, in Arborstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, with her mother and family by her side.

Cindy is survived by her mother, Glenna McLean; sister, Sharon (Paul); her loving partner, Jon; uncle, Lyall and his family; niece, Erin (Ricky); nephews, Adam (Natalie), Christopher (Anna-Marie), Sam (Jennifer), John (Belinda), who she thought of as the children she never had; great nieces and nephews, Cassie, Kaitlin, Abby, Jackson, Wyatt and Oz. She was predeceased by her father, Robert; sisters, Debbie and Vicki.

Cindy had the most amazing ability to chat endlessly and make friends wherever she was. She was owner/operator of La Maison Bleue in Glen Margaret for many years. She would often have customers who stayed for hours while she educated them on all of her crafts, from where they originated to the quality of the craftsmanship. She was directionally challenged! Getting lost was only another adventure to Cindy. God rest your soul as you embark on your final destination in heaven with your dad and sisters by your side.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, 767 Main St., Dartmouth. Reception to follow at 25 Belvedere Dr., Dartmouth. Donations will be gratefully accepted to Arborstone Enhanced Care, 126 Purcells Cove Road, Halifax, NS B3P 1B5, where a bench will be installed in Cindy’s memory.

Joseph Fitzgerald Morrissey

Morrissey, Joseph Fitzgerald – Truro. (June 9, 1963 – October 14, 2016) It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joe Morrissey announce that at the end of a long and fiercely fought battle, it was time for our beloved Joe to leave this world and begin anew in a peaceful, loving heaven with our Lord.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Tanya Elliott; stepdaughter, Sarah Ward; mother, Geraldine Morrissey; and sister, Glenda Morrissey. Joe was predeceased by his father, Glen Morrissey.

Joe grew up in Parrsboro where he made some lifelong friendships that remain today. Joe would often reminisce about his adventures and of time spent with friends and family having cook-outs at the beach and the joy of growing up next to the ocean. After high school, Joe attended Truro Vocational School excelling in the brick laying course. Joe was employed for 24 years at the Home Hardware warehouse in Debert. In recent years, he was the bar manager for the Truro branch Air Force Club. During any down time, Joe was doing construction, and had built a few homes. He took pride in doing all of his jobs well. He was the fixer of all things (whether they needed fixing or not). Joe loved music and to play a few tunes on his guitar. He was known for his Hawaiian shirts and on summer days he loved to put the top down, crank up the tunes, and just go cruising. On many snowy days he would be found down by the fire enjoying a serious game of crib with a buddy. Joe was a generous man with a soft heart that he wore on his sleeve, and those who were close to him were blessed to have been touched by this.

We, Joe’s family, would like to thank the many people who loved and supported us through this journey; our many family and dear friends, Dr. MacAulay, Dr. Makkar and their staff, Palliative Care team, Dr. Henderson, Dr. Smith, Lisa Weatherbee, all the caring nurses on the Palliative Care unit, Jane Rogers, the nurses in the Chemo Clinic, Dr. Rowe, Darlene Holmes, Dr. Bruce Colwell, Jill Mason, the VON nurses, the Truro Hospice Society, the staff of MacQuarrie’s Pharmasave, the Truro Red Cross, Truro Legion, Rev. Mary White, and Arimathea Funeral Cooperative.

There will be a celebration of Joe’s life and sharing of memories on Friday, October 21, from 4-6 p.m., downstairs in the Truro Legion, with a Legion tribute service at 4:15 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in Joe’s name to Colchester East Hants Health Foundation Palliative Care Unit.

Dianna Rae Lynn Richardson

Richardson, Dianna Rae Lynn – Age 60, of Truro. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dianna Rae Lynn Richardson on October 11, 2016, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Born in Truro, Dianna was a beautiful and kind-hearted lady who touched the lives of many people. She looked after many children in her life and was often found hanging out with her special friend and sister-in law, Lisa Julian (Sonny). She volunteered at St. Mary’s Elementary School for many years.

Dianna is survived by her wonderful and dear husband of 31 years, Willard; sisters, Brenda Angers (Nelson), Debbie Higgins (Steve), Karen Pickles (Colin); brothers, Ricky Higgins (Elaine), Derrick Higgins (Carolyn), Darren Higgins; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; her tea buddy, Irene McNutt; godchildren, Santana Higgins and Michael Hansen. She was predeceased by her mother, Thelma (McCarthy) Higgins. She will be missed by her fur babies, Rusty and Tigger.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A celebration of Dianna’s life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016, from 2-4 p.m. in the Truro Fire Hall, 165 Victoria Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dianna’s memory to SPCA – Colchester Branch.

Archie Johnson McGillivray

McGillivray, Archie Johnson – Age 86, of Upper Pembroke, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2016, in Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche. Born in South Branch, he was a son of the late Alexander and Katherine (Archibald) McGillivray.

Archie was a retired employee of Michelin Canada. Always one for a good joke or prank on family and friends, he will be remembered by all as a gentleman, loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Surviving are his wife, of 61 years, the former Sylvia Cooper; children, Beth (Frank) Tree, Archie Jr. (Wendy), Lisa (Daniel) Kaulback; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; brother, Robert; sisters-in-law, Ferne, Jeannine. He was predeceased by great-granddaughter, Olivia Tree in infancy; brothers, Hugh, Lyle, Douglas; sister, Elizabeth (Dan) Ross.

Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Upper Stewiacke. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.

Martin Richard Dooks

Dooks, Martin Richard – Age 69, of Jeddore, passed away October 1, 2016, with family at his side in Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital, Musquodoboit Harbour. Born in Head of Jeddore, he was a son of the late Ralph and Madelyn (Simmons) Dooks.

Martin had been a member of Local 56 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union for 35 years. He had a great love for fishing, hunting, bowling, and his dog, Lulu.

Surviving are his wife, Ramona (Cleveland); son, Steven; daughter, Amy (Andrew); stepsons, Tim (Natasha), Peter (Angela); grandchildren, Carly, Rogan, Riley, Cole, Rebecca, Samantha; brothers, Otto, Reggie (Dorothy); sister, Roberta (Wayne) Webber.

Cremation has taken place. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.

Marion Ida Day

Day, Marion Ida – Age 83, of Lake Charlotte, passed away peacefully into the arms of God, on September 30, 2016, in St. Vincent’s Nursing Home, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Douglas and Mary (Neary) Smith.

Marion was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church in Oyster Pond, as well as a member of the Oyster Pond Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She had been employed for many years at Sears.

Surviving are her daughters, Donna (Gary), Oyster Pond; Charlotte, Halifax; sons, Dennis, Cape Breton; Kevin, Lake Charlotte; brother, Ron (Noreen), Halifax; sister, Betty, Halifax; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, of 52 years, Charles; six brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be Tuesday, from 1-1:45 p.m., with funeral service at 2 p.m., in St. John’s Anglican Church, Oyster Pond, Rev. Carson Baxter officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Anglican Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Anglican Church.

Monique Marie Agnes “Monica” (Lemire) Mallais

Mallais (Lemire), Monique Marie Agnes “Monica” – Age 77, of Enfield, died peacefully at home, surrounded by those who loved her, on September 28, 2016.

Monica was an exceptional person full of faith, love and generosity. She gave her all to everyone she met and cared for everyone with dignity and compassion. She died with grace and serenity, just as she lived.

She will always be in our hearts and lovingly missed by her sweetheart of 60 years, husband, Cederic; children, Irene (Carl) Olynyk, Frank (Carol) Leblanc, Diane (Steve) Farley, Lillianne Mallais, Marianne (Jean-Michel Blais), Cedric (Micheline Durepos), Monica (Mike) Mildenberger, Charles, David (Cathy Brisson);19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings Martha, Charles, Doris, Hannah, Kevin and extended family members. We will miss you mom “Baba”. She was predeceased by parents, Charles and Hannah (Kensley) Lemire; loving, Sister Diana.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Friday, 7-9 p.m., and funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 1 p.m., in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Enfield, with Father Joseph Thomas officiating. Patricia Lee Archibald

Archibald, Patricia Lee – Age 62, of Old Barns, passed away with family by her side, on September 24, 2016, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, following a brief battle with cancer.

Pat’s smiling face will be remembered by those who met her at The Bargain Shop and more recently Dollarama. When she wasn’t working, she was running her grandsons wherever they needed to be. She enjoyed dancing, an occasional game of bingo, and had fond memories of bowling on Saturday nights at the Bowlacade as one of “Ed’s Angels”.

Her kind and generous nature will always be remembered by her loving daughter, Kelley Lee Archibald; her precious grandsons, Logan Clark Watson and Joshua David Watson; brother, Brian (Connie) Farr; niece, Chelsea (Jay), and her children, Braeden, Arlynn, Kaia; special cousin, Donnie MacKenzie; many extended family members; and numerous friends who were there when we needed you most. She will be forever missed by her fur babies, Chili and Pepper.

She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Laura (Brown) Farr; her best friend and travel companion, Mary Blaikie; and her precious fur baby, Callie.

Marlene Marjorie Miller

Miller, Marlene Marjorie – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marlene Marjorie Miller, age 54, of Truro, on Friday, September 16, 2016.

Marlene had a favourite belief and it read as follows: “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand and champagne in the other; body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “Woo hoo what a ride!” Marlene did it her way right to the end.

She was survived by her loving partner, of 14 years, Randy MacIntosh; brother, Lyle (Sue), Londonderry; sister, Gail, Ottawa, Ont.; stepfather, Foster Cook, Westville; her very special guardian angels, Betty Cox and Carolyn Creelman. She was predeceased by father, Curtis; mother, Marjorie; sister, Sharon; niece, Stacy.

James Roger “Jim” Jackson

Jackson, James Roger “Jim” – Age 77, of Enfield, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2016, in The Magnolia Continuing Care, Enfield, after a short illness. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Edward and Catherine (Foster) Jackson.

Jim had a varied career, working for Department of Transportation, Stewiacke Construction, as well as being Superintendent of Public Works for the Municipality of East Hants. He had a lifelong love for the outdoors, loved to garden and was a true woodsman. He loved to read, and was never without a book in his hand. Jim was always happiest sitting behind his team of horses, holding the reins.

Surviving are sister, Lynn MacEachern (Bill); brothers, William, Laurie, Clyde, Eric (Colleene), Peter; sister-in-law, Kim; children, Matthew (Lorelei), Erin (Jim), Jennifer (Scott); grandchildren, Colten (Cynthia), Madeline, Jason, Justin, Sarah, Jeffrey, Joshua, Paige; great-grandchildren, Akira and Bentley; former spouse and mother of his children, Sandra (Holmes). He was predeceased by his wife, Colleen (Shunamon); and brother, Paul.

Kelly Christine O’Neill

O’Neill, Kelly Christine – Age 53, Upper Stewiacke, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2016, in the VG Site, QEII, with family at her side. Born in Middle Musquodoboit, she was a daughter of Francis and Phyllis (O’Connell) Creelman.

Everyone who knew her knew of her big heart and kindness toward others.

Kelly will be forever remembered and loved by husband, Robert; daughters, Kayla, Carley, stepdaughter Tracy; grandson, Sage; sister, Ferne (Daryl), brothers, Steven, Willy, Shawn; special aunt and friend, Mary; many nieces and nephews; extended family, Francis (Louisa) MacKinnon, Charles (Cynthia) O’Neill, Brian (Rose) O’Neill, Shelley (Paul) Cain, Arthrena (Randy) Hamilton. Janice Elaine Spiers

Spiers, Janice Elaine – Age 70, Musquodoboit Harbour, passed away peacefully in Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital, on September 6, 2016. Born in Musquodoboit Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Gardner and June (Day) Bayer.

Janice was a long-time faithful member of First United Church where she held many offices. She always put others ahead of herself. Her warm smile will be sadly missed by her husband, John; her children, Jeff, Melanie and Melissa; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Betty. She was predeceased by her brother, Brian.

Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. in First United Church, Musquodoboit Harbour, with Rev. Joan Griffin officiating. A reception will follow downstairs in the church. Ronald Oswald Graham

Graham, Ronald Oswald – Age 75, of Dean, died suddenly in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, on September 5, 2016. Born in Burnside, Upper Stewiacke, he was a son of the late Ervin and Lottie (Ross) Graham.

Ronnie’s working life was spent mostly in the woods and local sawmill. For the last several years, he had been a resident at Braeside Home for Special Care, Middle Musquodoboit.

He is survived by his brother, Alvin (Florence), Dartmouth; several nieces and nephews. Ronnie was predeceased by his brothers, Gerald, Glen, Earl and Paul; sister, Norma in infancy.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held in Proven Cemetery, Burnside, on Sunday at 1 p.m. with Marty Clark-Ettinger officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Musquodoboit Valley Health Foundation – Braeside, Middle Musquodoboit, NSB0N 1X0.

T. Pearl (Stevens) Taylor

Taylor (Stevens), T. Pearl – 1924-2016. The family of Pearl Taylor, of Birch Hill, sadly announce the passing of their mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, on September 4, 2016. Pearl was a daughter of the late Alvin and Eleanor Stevens of Brentwood.

During her lifetime, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, farmer, and senior care provider. Besides her family, she enjoyed her flower gardens, puzzles, books, and playing cards (45s). She was a life-long member of the Middle Stewiacke UCW.

Pearl will be forever missed and remembered by her children, Diane, Thelma, Shirley, Sandra, Mark (Karen); daughter-in-law, Gemma; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Darren, Casey, Thomas, Taylor, Kelda, Tasha, Garnet, Kassie and Deja; siblings, Cecil (Alice), Lena, Ethel; sister-in-law, Barbara. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Rupert, in 2006; sons, Elmer, Rupert Jr.; daughter, Connie; sisters, Irma (Allan), Mary (Clarence), Edith (Stanley), Hazel (Randall); brothers, Ralph, Duane, Burpee.

Noreen “Reene” Louise Hutt

Hutt, Noreen “Reene” Louise – Age 78, of Hardwood Lands, passed away on August 29, 2016, in Shubenacadie, at the home of her daughter. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Perry) Smith.

She enjoyed knitting, watching birds, particularly hummingbirds, spending time with her grandchildren, and always enjoyed preparing for and having visitors.

Surviving are her children, Laurie (Leota), Christine (Keith) Moxsom, Helen (Johnny) Fraser, Perry (Tina), Jackie (Keith) Greeno; grandchildren, Troy (Victoria) Hutt, Drew Hutt, Kaylea Hutt (Scott Zwicker), Jeffery (Tara) Moxsom, Rory Moxsom, Tina (Mike) Butcher, Kyle (Natasha) Fraser, Lindsay Fraser (Kyle Tanner), Tyler Hutt (Jenn Sack), Benjamin Hutt (Dawson White), Brandon Hutt (Jessica Brown), Kristopher Moxsom (Katelyn Ross); great-grandchildren, Thane, Seth, Claire and Max Hutt, Noah and Addison Moxsom, Taylor Butcher, Cora and Chloe Hutt, Liam LeBlanc; sisters, Janet MacPhee, Rosemarie Day; sister-in-law, Pearl Barbrick; brother-in-law, Gerald Hutt. Bernard Daniel “Bunny” “Ace” McCluskey

McCluskey, Bernard Daniel “Bunny” “Ace” – It is with heartfelt emotions we announce the passing of Prince Edward Island’s last boxing brother, the legendary middleweight boxing champion, Bernard Daniel “Bunny” “Ace” McCluskey, age 89, of Middle Musquodoboit. Ace fought his last battle on a winter’s day, Friday, January 8, 2016, at 5:55 p.m., with his family by his side, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Charlottetown, he was a son of the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Gormley) McCluskey.

Ace worked various jobs with local store owners and began his boxing career at age 11 in Charlottetown. His first amateur fight was on Christmas Day in 1937 at the old L.P.U. Hall on Water Street, where he decisioned Jackie Carver in four rounds. He continued his boxing career and enlisted in the Merchant Navy in the Second World War. He fought many fights during the war and became a professional middleweight boxer.

Ending his professional boxing career at age 31, his last fight was in Charlottetown in 1957, when he fought a 10-round draw with Mickey Ryan of Boston. Ace had a total of 127 professional fights; he was inducted into the Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame in 1988, and the Prince Edward Island Sports Hall of Fame in 1998 as a professional middleweight boxer.

From 1949-72 he worked at the Rainbow Tavern, Halifax, as a special policeman/bouncer. From 1973-76 he was a bouncer at the Green Dory Beverage Room, and retired from the Matador Lounge in 1982 as a general manager, at age 56.

Ace was a loving, caring and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He left behind his devoted wife, Barbara; beloved daughters, Bernadette (Brendon), Elizabeth; son, Vic (Jane); his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his dearest and youngest brother, Tommy (Lucy); sisters-in-law, Gloria, Teresa, Peggy; many nieces and nephews; many friends. He was predeceased by his first wife, Doris; sisters, Catherine, Mary (Earl), Frances (Raymond); brothers, Tom, Wilfred, and Cobey.

In keeping with Ace’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. Malcolm Douglas Nicholson

Nicholson, Malcolm Douglas – Age 79, Enfield, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2016, at the home of his daughter, Mary Nicholson, in Timberlea. Malcolm was born in Eldon, P.E.I., a son of the late Angus and Mary (MacKinnon) Nicholson.

He joined the Air Force in 1957 and served for 29 years. Upon retiring from the service, he worked at IMP for 16 years. He made many friendships over the last 30 years playing with Last Chance Band, Down Home Fiddlers, the Metro Fiddlers and Bedford Fiddlers; Nick readily gave of his time to volunteer with the groups playing in various communities.

Surviving are loving daughters, Sheila (Michael) Martell, Mary Ellen Nicholson; his grandchildren, Gabriel Martell, Reese and Robin Lake; sisters, Alice Whitlock, Elizabeth Hancock. He was predeceased by his wife, Ellen; brothers, Donald and Angus; sisters, Jean Hardy, Mary Cowden, Ruth Acorn.

Cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in Riverview United Church, Elmsdale, with Rev. Catherine MacDonald officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Burial will be at a later date in Polly Cemetery, P.E.I. In lieu of flowers, donations to Polly Cemetery, c/o Wilma MacKinnon, Mount Buchanan, Belfast Post Office, P.E.I. C0A 1A0, would be appreciated.

Ernest K. Weeden

Weeden, Ernest K. – Age 88, Lower Sackville, passed away in Northwood Ivany Place, Bedford, on August 21, 2016. Born in Toronto, he was a son of the late Edward and Barbara Weeden.

Ernie enjoyed life and greeted everyone with a smile. He was a member of Timberlea Masonic Lodge No. 136, an avid golfer, loved to travel, enjoyed woodworking and a good game of cards with friends. He had been employed as a draftsman for the Avro Aircraft fighter jet project and later was an instructor at NSCC IT Campus from where he retired.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia (Wilson); sons, Mark (Sue), David; daughter, Annalea; stepchildren, Robert (Denise) Wilson, Kevin (Debra) Wilson, Lisa (Ross) MacDonald, Angelia (Stephen) Fralick; grandchildren, Nicole, Josh, Vincent, Stephanie, Brittany, Rebecca, Haley and Vivian. He was predeceased by his first wife, Bonita; son, Paul; brother, Bert.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A celebration of Ernie’s life will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in The Church of the Good Shepherd, 28 Trinity Lane, Beaver Bank, with a reception to follow in the parish hall. A private interment will be held in the church cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Ernie’s memory may be made to The Church of the Good Shepherd.

Elizabeth “Bee” Huxtable

Huxtable, Elizabeth “Bee” – 90, died in Halifax, August 21, 2016. Born in Charminster, Dorset, England, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Lee-Norman.

She served in the WRNS in London in the Second World War as a driver for the Admiralty and emigrated to Halifax in 1955 with her husband, John Huxtable, who was an officer in the Royal Canadian Navy. Throughout the 60 years she lived in Halifax, she was very actively involved in the arts and cultural life of the area. She worked as the personal assistant to Gary Karr for 10 years and she volunteered for and supported numerous organizations such as the Halifax Ladies Musical Club, Women for Music, Scotia Festival, the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra, Symphony Nova Scotia, the Halifax Kiwanis Music Festival, St. Augustine’s Church Ladies Guild and Theatre Arts Guild amongst others. She played the organ at St. James Church in Herring Cove until this spring.

She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Anne; brother, Alexander; and John, her husband of 50 years. She is survived by her daughters, Antonia (Albert) Mahon, Comox, B.C.; and Jasmine (Bruce) Snelling, Burnham, England; and four grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A Service of Celebration for Bee’s life will be held in St. Augustine’s Church, 290 Purcell’s Cove Rd., on Friday, September 23 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Bee Huxtable to the Victorial Order of Nurses Greater Halifax, 100-7075 Bayers Rd., Halifax, NS B3L 2C2 or QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation, 3005-5657 Spring Garden Rd., Halifax, NS B3J 3R4.

Margaret Catherine Archibald

Archibald, Margaret Catherine – Age 74, Upper Musquodoboit, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Mooseland, she was the youngest daughter of the late Ernest and Catherine (Taylor) Prest.

Mom grew up in Mooseland, and attended a one-room school for her early education until grade 7; she then went to Musquodoboit Rural High School. After graduation, she   took nursing training at the then Camp Hill Veterans Hospital, Halifax. There she met our father, Billie, and they were married on October 6, 1962. Mom moved to the family farm in Upper Musquodoboit, where they raised their three children, worked, and recently lived until her illness. She pursued many interests over the years. Not only was she a hard-working farmer’s wife, she found time to be a wonderful talented seamstress, crafter and homemaker, to name but a few. She was very active in her community. When her eldest child started high school, she went back to nursing, working many hard hours of shift work from 1976 to 1991. During that time, she made and kept many cherished friendships with her co-workers. Mom’s smile and twinkling blue eyes lit every room she was in. Everyone was a “dear”, “hon”, or “honey”.

She loved and cherished her children and grandchildren, and will be forever missed by children, Nova Lee (Ken Horne), Dartmouth; Natalie Bell (Michael Fulton), Middle Musquodoboit; Trent (Heidi Higgins), Upper Musquodoboit; grandchildren, Nathan, Madelyn and Gregory Horne; Benjamin and Molly Bell; Libby and Lucy Archibald; sisters, Ramona Reynolds, Upper Musquodoboit; Norma Kennedy, Dartmouth; sisters-in-law, Bonnie, Joan and Alice; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Billie; son-in-law, Colin Bell; brothers-in-law, Harry, Parker, Samuel, Jimmie; sisters-in-law, Frances, Eileen and Norma.

Visitation will be Monday, 6:30-8 p.m., and funeral service will be Tuesday, at 2 p.m., both in St. James United Church, Upper Musquodoboit, Rev. Dr. Linda Yates officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
