Beazley (Hefler), Doreen – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Doreen passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 19, 2016, surrounded by her family. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Annie “Dovie” Hefler. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ken; sons, Derek (Ann), Judson (Cathy), both of Upper Sackville; Kirk (Theresa), Upper Nine Mile River; daughters, Valerie (Ron) Ward, Upper Nine Mile River, Vicki Dickson (Tim), Oakfield; brother, Murray (Jennette), Hantsport; sister, Carole (John) Feetham, Enfield; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Cecil, Lorne, Royce, Graham; sisters, Margarite, Vivian, Iris, Audrey-June; son-in-law, Kevin Dickson.
Doreen enjoyed puzzles (the more difficult the better), word search, playing darts, and card nights with Carole and John. She was also an avid Terry Fox Run supporter, a member of Noel Legion Branch 166, and a lifelong member of the Women’s Institute of Nova Scotia.
No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 29 at 2 p.m., in Elmsdale United Baptist Church, 512 Highway 2, Elmsdale. A private family committal service will be at a later date. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to The Lung Association Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.

The family thanks Dr. Michelle MacLean and staff of Kennetcook Medical Centre, Dr. Cortney Smith, and doctors and nurses of the ICU and Palliative Care units in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, for their kindness and compassionate care.
