Myers (Mills), Elvie Florence – Age 83, Middle Musquodoboit and formerly of Head of Jeddore, passed away January 31, 2015, surrounded by her family. Elvie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a lifelong caregiver, starting at age nine. She had many jobs in her younger years, but caregiving was her passion and she achieved that passion at The Birches Nursing Home until her retirement. Mom was extremely selfless and always gave of herself and anything she had to those in need.
Elvie was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother of Richard (Paula), Carter (Darlene), Wayde, Timothy (Joyce), Thomas (Nadine), Lana (Howard), Sherry (Dennis) and Heather (Gary); 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; special aunt of many nephews and one niece. She was predeceased by husband, Leslie; brother, Harley; sister and best friend, Jean Foley; parents, Harland and Ivy Mills; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Foley.
Funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in St. James Anglican Church, Head of Jeddore, Rev. Mike Foley officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to Musquodoboit Valley Health Foundation – Braeside, Middle Musquodoboit, NS B0N 1X0, or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
To her extended family at Braeside who took exceptional care of her and her family, we appreciate you beyond words.
