Justason, Burton Alexander – Age 84, of Truro and formerly of Stewiacke, passed away on January 24, 2015. Born in Black’s Harbour, N.B., he was a son of the late Warren and Kathleen (Bradford) Justason. Burt had been a past president of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 70, Stewiacke, and was a long-time member of the Odd Fellows, where he held the offices as the Past Grand Patriarch of the Encampment Branch and Past Grand Master of the Odd Fellows of the Atlantic Provinces.
Surviving are five children; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Jean Agnes Dewar; second wife, Dorothy Eileen (Sullivan) McMichael; four brothers; three sisters.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Wednesday, 7-9 p.m., and funeral service will be Thursday, at 11 a.m., both in St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, Shubenacadie, Father Tom Kurudeepan OMI officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Atlantic Odd Fellows and Rebekah Visual Research Program or a charity of choice. The family will meet friends for a reception in the Stewiacke Legion following the service.
